The Maintenance Enforcement Program (MEP) under the Alberta Government faced significant challenges with its outdated backend systems, manual processes, and fragmented data management. These issues resulted in delays and inaccuracies in managing and enforcing child support orders, which impacted operational effectiveness and the quality of support provided to Alberta’s families. The inefficiencies hindered their ability to track payments, manage cases effectively, and ensure compliance with support orders.
